Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a great way to brighten your smile and increase your confidence. Book a consultation with us to determine if whitening is a suitable option for you. At Capital Dental we will factor in your long term dental treatment plan so that you get the best whitening result.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride is essential to keep your teeth healthy. In controlled amounts, Fluoride is perfectly safe to apply on teeth. Your dentist may recommend application of fluoride after a tooth cleaning at your 6 monthly check ups. In some cases, they may recommend that you use a safe level of higher strength fluoride toothpaste.
Fissure Sealings
Teeth have deep grooves called fissures that are similar in shape to steep mountain ranges. This makes them very difficult to clean as bacteria can get stuck in these grooves. Cavities can develop which makes for a costly future trip to the dentist. Children, in particular, have a difficult time cleaning these areas because their motor control skills have not fully developed yet. Fissure seals are a great solution to this.
Children's Dentistry
We want children and their families to have a positive experience at Capital Dental. A great dental experience will help instil good dental habits in their more vital stage of development. Our experienced clinicians have the skills to deliver attentive care to your child from dental trauma cases to check-up and clean appointments. We are also pleased to announce that we are now offering Myobrace treatment options to help improve childrens' bite alignment.
Fillings
When a tooth has a cavity, the otherwise hard tooth structure becomes soft and discoloured inside. These cavities have active infections that may trigger sensitivity to hot, cold, or sweet. If the dentist advises that a filling should be done, they will likely numb up the tooth and remove the soft infected tooth. Afterwards, the area is cleaned and filled back up with tooth coloured material.
Crowns and Bridges
A crown or bridge can help protect the tooth like a helmet and dramatically lower the risk of infection and fracture. A bridge is similar to a crown but it also helps fill missing tooth spaces by anchoring on the tooth or teeth beside the space.
Crowns are traditionally done over multiple appointments. But at Capital Dental, our dentists can design your crown in just one appointment by using our in-house CEREC crown machine.
Bridges, on the other hand, are made up in a laboratory and take a few appointments to complete.
Book a comprehensive examination with us to assess if this is a good option for you!
Dentures
Dentures can be a cost-effective way to fill in gaps of missing teeth, improve aesthetics, and help you chewing again after tooth loss. No denture is the same and each one is custom designed to fit your mouth. They are removable and need to be cleaned when taken out before bed.
Extractions
Most commonly, people get tooth extractions for orthodontic treatment, trauma/pain relief, infection removal, or tooth position issues. Clinical tests, full mouth x-rays and intra-oral x-rays are often used to help us assess each case. At Capital Dental, we always try our best to make the experience as smooth and comfortable as possible.
Root Canal Treatment
The nerve of a tooth lives in the innermost layer called the pulp and this space can be infected with bacteria by one or the other reason. Some patients report a range of no pain to severe pain and sometimes a tooth can flare up and die as a result. When dental infections spread to the tooth and surrounding bone, your dentist might advise to undergo root canal treatment as a way to clean the infection and keep the tooth for a longer time in the mouth.
Splints
Splints can help protect your teeth from grinding against each other at night. Splints are clear and tailor-made coverings that can be worn on the upper or lower teeth at night. Wearing a splint can also help to reduce joint pain.
